Comedy duo Tenacious D comprise actors Kyle Gass and Jack Black. They achieved mainstream success in the Noughties with their brand of heavy metal and humour. Their self-titled debut made the Top 40 in the UK and US in 2001, producing the cult classic ‘Tribute’. Five years later they moved into movies: Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny, in reality an elongated promo video, performed poorly at the box office but its soundtrack fared better, reaching No. 8 in the Billboard 200 and broke the Top 10 in the UK.
