Canadian Twain (real name Eilleen Regina Edwards) really was born dirt-poor and thus was ideally placed to become a country star. Her first two albums were typically slick affairs with singles like ‘Any Man Of Mine’ crossing with ease into the US pop charts. With Come On Over (1997) she broke worldwide, scoring monster singles like ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ whose promotional video parodied Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted To Love’ concept. She is married to record producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange.
