Australian guitarist
Williams’ family moved from Melbourne to London in 1952. He attended Segovia’s summer courses in Italy while studying piano and theory at the Royal College of Music, where he later became the institution’s first guitar professor. His discography embraces the standard classical guitar repertory as well as works written for him (by Leo Brouwer, André Previn and others) and fusions with rock and, later, world music.
